Medina, Ohio Medina, Ohio is home to a vibrant downtown district full of unique specialty shops and businesses. Main Street Medina is a community lead effort to enhance and expand the uptown district of Medina. The organization employs a holistic approach to market, promote, and enrich the core of our community and region. Main Street Medina is an official Ohio Main Street Community.

2008 represents the inaugural year for Main Street Medina. Please visit our site often to check out upcoming events and programs within the district and to volunteer for one of our committees.

The Main Street Approach gradually builds on existing resources and fosters improved community leadership and support on behalf of the Central Business District for long term benefits. The Main Street program is based on a four-point methodology to create a total image for the community:

  • Organization is the building of consensus and cooperation between the groups that play a role in the downtown.
  • Design involves improving the downtown's image by improving its physical appearance.
  • Promotion involves marketing the downtown's unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, tourists, and others.
  • Economic Restructuring means strengthening and diversifying the existing economic base of the downtown.
